From Endeavour to Morse and Lewis too

Sitting down last year to watch a documentary in honour of the famous John Thaw, I realised that whilst not being a star struck wreck that follows every move favourite actors make it was certainly somewhat of a disadvantage that till that very moment I realised he was dead and buried, I had always dreamed that one day I would meet him.

I got enthralled by John Thaw after seeing his perfect perfromances in earlier movies such as The Sweeneys and enamoured when he featured in Kavanagh QC and became a regular viewer.

When I started to watch Morse, I became more convinced he was a legend and i suppose where the shock set in was when it dawned on me that it had taken me 10 years to find out he was dead.

I guess the main reason for this is because I don’t watch much television but yet, that is a long time to keep someone in mind as one of your favourite TV personalities and not notice they died already.

For those who haven’t I would recommend watching his performances and those of his sidekick Lewis. The best part of following the series John Thaw starred in was finding out there was another series called Endeavour….. it will all make sense if you watch the Morse series.  I sat there with a huge grin on my face like I had just found 10 Grand down the side of the settee.
